No player in NBA history has ever recorded any basketball stats at the NBA Draft. However, fashion has always been a measurable feature of the event.
On Tuesday, New Era Cap debuted the special hats each NBA team will be providing to its selections on draft day. The 2018 "NBA Authentics: Draft Series" collection will feature a pin and a variety of patches specific to that franchise. According to New Era, "The cap embellishments denote something unique for each franchise, including city or state flags, the year the team was established, an alternate team logo and monogram marks."
It should also be noted the Raptors have neither a city nor state flag, but the national flag of Canada on their cap.
You call me lazy, but I call myself economical. Earlier today, I tweeted out all 30 caps, plus the generic NBA cap. I'm embedding all those tweets here below to get this information to you as soon as possible. The thread is in order of when teams draft, although the Heat and Raptors currently do not have any picks.
According to New Era, the "NBA Authentics: Draft Series collection" 9FIFTY snapbacks are retailing for $36 in team colorways, denim and Storm Gray. Additional cap silhouettes are available from $28 - $38.
.@NewEraCap and the @NBA are trying to get creative with this year's @NBADraft caps. Feature patches with team's state or city flag, year franchise was established and alternate logo(s). Pin on front.
